Sep. 23            Elburn Lions Club will host its Community Spaghetti Dinner at 5 PM at Lions Clubhouse. Afterward, there will be an Equine Psychologist speaking on a program geared toward veterans.

Sep. 27            Lions Club of Sun City-Huntley is hosting its annual Pancake Breakfast from 7 AM to 11 AM in conjunction with the Huntley Fall Fest at Cosman Cultural Center in Deicke Park. Cost is $6 for adults and kids under 12 are FREE. All you eat pancakes!

Sep. 27            The Bloomingdale Lions’ “50 Men Who Cook” at the Indian Lakes Hotel starring PP Stan Poplonski and his hot cake balls in 12 flavors!

Sep. 28            The Itasca Lions’ Spaghetti Dinner.

Oct. 01             Ads for the MD-1 Forum Ad Book due today to SST Michele Faires at Lions of Illinois, Inc. See MD-1 website at www.illinoislionsmd1.org for requirements.

Oct. 02             Addison Lions Club will be earning funds for its club projects by hosting Casino Nights at the Pyramid Club, 236 W. Lake Street, Addison. Hours of play are from 2 PM until midnight. There will be Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments and live games. There is a full menu, full bar, and waitress service.

Oct. 05             21st Annual Fall Classic Car Show, hosted by Elburn Lions Club, at Lions Park from 8 AM to 4 PM. Pumpkin Decorating Contest during the Car Show.

Oct. 10-11        LIONS OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATION CANDY DAYS get out and SHAKE YOUR CAN!!! Remember there’s a new type of candy this year!

Oct. 18             Crystal Lake Lions Club will host the LIF Hearing Bus and the LIF Diabetic Retinopathy/Glaucoma Bus at a Health Fair to be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of the Jewel-Osco Shopping Center. Hours for the buses are form 10 AM to 3 PM.

Oct. 18             Elburn Lions Club German Dinner at Lions Clubhouse. Serving from 4 to 8 PM.

Oct. 25             Crystal Lake Lions Club is hosting a new fun event today beginning a 4 PM — it’s a Road Rally, like a Scavenger Hunt with clues and hints galore to direct the participants from one location to another  until the final location is reached. More details next month!

Oct. 25             Huntley Lions Club is hosting its annual Fall Steak Fry — check with a Huntley Lion for details!

Oct. 29             Sun City-Huntley Lions Club is hosting its annual Flower Show at the Huntley High School Theatre at 7 PM. Tickets are $10 each and includes a chance to win a flower arrangement and a snack at Intermission. Four florists will come and prepare 8-10 arrangements. A retired florist will act as Emcee for the evening.

Nov. 07            Burr Ridge/Hinsdale/Oak Brook Lions Club will host its annual Fall Wine Tasting fundraiser from 5:30—8 PM at The Community House, 415 W. Eighth Street, Hinsdale. Light hors’d’oeuvres will be served. Wine-related baskets will be featured in the Silent Auction. A good variety of wines at different price points will be available for tasting with great discounts for purchase by the case. Tickets to this event are $20 and will be available in mid-September. Nov. 07-08       MD-1 FORUM to be held at the Parke Regency Hotel in Bloomington IL. Registration Blank and Seminars listed on MD-1 website, www.illinoislionsmd1.org — Registration at 9:30 AM / Seminars start at 10 AM with Lunch at Noon. Afternoon Seminars start at 1 PM with Closing Session at 3 to 3:30 PM.

Nov. 27            Naperville Noon Lions Club is hosting its 17th Annual 5K Turkey Trot Race on Thanksgiving morning. The race starts at 8 AM from Naperville Central High School Field House, 440 Aurora Avenue, Naperville. Adult registration is $35 until October 31 and $40 thereafter, Children ages 10-14 and children 9 & under is $25. On-line registration ONLY at www.napervilleturkeytrot.com. Dec. 05            The South Elgin Lions Club’s “A Night Out at The Second City Dysfunctional Holiday Revue,” tickets are $35/person. After the show, we will all go to The Round House for dinner. Come join us for a great night out!
