Nov. 18       South Elgin Lions Club’s Turkey/Meat Spin at 500 Fulton, South Elgin. Doors open at 6 PM; Raffles begin at 7 PM. Cash bar. Free sandwiches.

Nov. 19       Elmhurst Lions’ Diabetes Fair from 9 AM to Noon at the Elmhurst Hospital.

Nov. 19       LIONS OF IL FOUNDATION is hosting an Eyeglass Sorting Party at the office, 2254 Oakland Drive, Sycamore, from 8:30 AM to Noon. There are more than 100,000 pairs of eyeglasses to sort — many hands are needed! We heard Lion Mario promises free coffee & donuts for all who attend.

Nov. 20       Turkey Trot Tune-Up 5K Race at 9 AM at Lisle Sr. High School, 1800 Short Street, Lisle. Register at www.active.com Lisle Lions will staff the water station and have a booth in the lobby of the high school.

Nov. 24       Naperville Noon Lions Club’s 19th Annual 5K Turkey Trot starting at 8 AM. Go to www.napervilleturkeytrot.com to register. Only online registration is accepted and race day registrations will not be accepted.

Nov. 24       Inaugural 5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk at 8 AM, hosted by Algonquin Lions Foundation. Early registration is $20 until 10/31 at Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin. Timed Race, Race Bib, T-Shirt, Medals for Winners. Register online at www.lionsclubofalgonquin.org/event/5K-info.

Nov. 26       Island Lake Lions Club 60th Charter Night Celebration at Westridge Banquet Hall. Dinner will be a Mexican buffet.

Nov. 26       Elburn Lions Club’s Holiday Raffle. Free appetizers will be served throughout the evening and a cash bar will be available. This is a fun event for the whole family and is open to the public. There will be chances to win cash prizes, gift cards, hams, turkeys, pork loin, and bacon.

Dec. 02       The Bartlett Lions’ Santa will visit the Log Cabin from 5:00 – 6:30 PM today. The Village’s tree lighting ceremony will follow at 7:00 pm.

Dec. 03       The 2016 Wheaton Lions Lions Club Reindeer Run or Walk through downtown Wheaton starts at 9:00 AM. The run is a CARA Emerging Race. The race is co-hosted by the Lions Club in conjunction with the Wheaton Park District. Money raised by the Lions Club is donated to help people with sight and hearing disabilities. Dec. 03       Geneva Lions Club hosts its 5th Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa. Serving from 7:30 AM to 11 AM at Geneva High School Cafeteria, 415 McKinley, Geneva. In addition to photos with Santa, there will be live holiday music and a free crafts section. Tickets are $6 in advance or $7 at the door. Children under three are free. Purchase tickets online at genevalionsclub.org or at the Geneva History Museum or State Street Jewelers.

Dec. 04       The Bartlett Lions’ Christmas Party will be at Villa Olivia; family and friends are welcome. Cost is $29.00 per person. Hors d’oeuvres & cocktails start at 5:30 pm (cash bar). Contact Lion Tom Silver for a reservation.
