Jul. 24-27   Lakefest/Carnival at Watertower Park, on the south side of route 176 east of River Road, Island Lake.  Look for hard-working Island Lake Lions and Lionesses there!

Jul. 31-Aug. 02    Taste of Roselle — one of Roselle Lions Club’s best fundraisers — look for Lions dispensing beer and Mike’s Lemonade there.

Aug. 01       LIONS OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATION LOW VISION PROGRAM Golf Outing — 22nd Annual Golf Classic at Railside Golf Club, Gibson City, IL. Registration from 10 to 11:30 AM. Lunch at 11 AM. Shotgun Start at 12 Noon. $80 per golfer / 4 golfers per team. An LIF Logo Lob Wedge will be given to each registered golfer. Many prizes and give-aways.

Aug. 01       Hanover Township Recycling Extravaganza at Hanover Township Town Hall, 250 S. Illinois Rte. 59 in Bartlett from 8 AM to 1 PM — look for Bartlett Lions helping out there!  Log in at: for items to recycle.

Single $220, Foursome $880, includes 18 holes of golf with cart, box lunch, golf range, chipping & putting practice, on-course refreshments, dinner and cash bar. 11:30 AM—12:30 PM Registration, check in. 12:45 PM—Shotgun Start. 6 PM Cocktails. 6:45 PM Steak Fry Buffet followed by Awards & Silent Auction.

Aug. 21       Sandwich Lions’ Cruise Night in downtown Sandwich from 5-8 PM on Railroad Street in downtown Sandwich.

Aug. 21-23  Elburn Days at Elburn Lions Park — look for lots of busy Elburn Lions and Elburn Leos on the grounds during those days. Come out and enjoy a hometown activity!

Aug. 22-23  Festival of the Arts, hosted by the Glen Ellyn Lions Club, at Maryknoll Park, 845 Pershing Avenue (south of Roosevelt Rd/Route 53). There will be more than 80 juried artists using a variety of media. Several groups will be providing live music on the grounds; four food booths available. Hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Aug. 29       Warrenville Lions Club’s 11th Annual Golf Outing to be held at Bliss Creek Golf Course, 1 Golfview Road in Sugar Grove. Drawing for prizes (seven from $1,000 to $100) to be held during Dinner Banquet and winners do not have to be present. For more info, call 630-688-9393.

Sep. 23       Sandwich Lions’ Cruise Night in downtown Sandwich from 5-8 PM on Railroad Street in downtown Sandwich. The Taste of Sandwich will also be going on this night.

Oct. 02        Winner of the Geneva Lions Club Raffle Drawing will be pulled tonight at the Friday evening Geneva High School Homecoming Game. 1st Prize is $5,000/2nd Prize is $1,000/15 Prizes in all. Tickets are available from a Geneva Lion or online at Winners will be posted on the same site.

Nov. 26       Naperville Noon Lions Club’s 18th Annual 5K Turkey Trot starts at 8 AM at Naperville Central High School, 440 Aurora Avenue, Naperville. Adult registration fee is $35 until October 31st and $40 thereafter. Fee for children ages 10-14 is $30 and $25 for children age 9 & under. Online registration only at There will be no Race Day Registration. Both runners & walkers are welcome. The race is limited to the first 7,500 runners and has sold out the past four years.
