Oct. 15        Island Lake Lioness Club is hosting the Harvest Moon Event on October 15th at Converse Park in town, starting at 6 PM.  There will be a bonfire and chili and cornbread will be served with all-you-can-drink apple cider.

Oct. 15        Elburn Lions Club is hosting its annual German Dinner at the Elburn Lions Clubhouse.  Serving from 4 to 8 PM — plan to arrive early to miss the big crowds.

Oct. 21        Villa Park Lions will be at the Halloween Happening at the Iowa Community Center (on Iowa Avenue) in Villa Park. Kids start arriving at 6 PM for their candies. Lion Bill dresses up for the occasion and the Lion Mascot has fun passing out candy.

Oct. 21        Burr Ridge— Hinsdale – Lions Club is hosting its Annual Wine Tasting from 5:30—8 PM tonight at The Community House, 415 West Eighth Street, Hinsdale.

Oct. 22        MD1 FALL RALLY AND 2017 CONVENTION KICKOFF at Embassy Suites, 100 Conference Center Dr., East Peoria, IL. Guests for the weekend will be International President Lion Bob Corlew and Lion Dianne. New this year is the Expo: Lions Gone Wild for Service.  Reservation form is on the MD1 Lions website. Mail form by October 10, 2016.

Oct. 22        Huntley Lions Club is hosting its 2nd Annual Pig Roast at the Huntley Legion, 11712 Coral Street, Huntley. Serving from 4 PM to 8:30 PM. $10 per person.

Oct. 22        McHenry Lions Club is celebrating its 50th Anniversary tonight at Route 31 North. The club was sponsored by the Island Lake Lions Club. It will be held at  31 North Banquet Hall , 217 N. Front Street , McHenry, IL 60050. Social Hour—5-6 PM; Sit-down Dinner from 6-7 PM; Speakers & Guests from 7-8 PM; Special Entertainment and Door Prizes from 8 to 9:30 PM; Dance to the music of the 60’s with DJ Pam Zac.  Cost is $40.00 per person . Nov. 05       Glendale Heights Barangay Lions Club’s Peace Poster Contest takes place today at 10 AM at the Marquardt Administration Center, 1912 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights.

Nov. 06       The Bartlett Lions’ Fall Pancake Breakfast at the Firebarn, serving from 8 am – 12 noon. Adults $6.00, Children (6 – 12) $4.00, up to 3 children age 5 and under eat free with each paid adult. Multiple raffles and a 50/50 Split The Pot.

Nov. 07       Roselle Lions Club will be working at the Trinity Lutheran Church Health Fair. The LIF Sight & Hearing Vans will be available to screen participants

Nov. 12       Elmhurst Lions’ Vision Screening from 1-4 PM at the Elmhurst Public Library.

Nov. 19       Elmhurst Lions’ Diabetes Fair from 9 AM to Noon at the Elmhurst Hospital.

Nov. 24       Naperville Noon Lions Club’s 19th Annual 5K Turkey Trot starting at 8 AM. Go to to register. Only online registration is accepted and race day registrations will not be accepted.

Nov. 24       Inaugural 5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk at 8 AM, hosted by Algonquin Lions Foundation. Early registration is $20 until 10/31 at Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin. Timed Race, Race Bib, T-Shirt, Medals for Winners. Register online at

Dec. 03       The 2016 Wheaton Lions Lions Club Reindeer Run or Walk through downtown Wheaton starts at 9:00 AM.
The run is a CARA Emerging Race. The race is co-hosted by the Lions Club in conjunction with the Wheaton Park District. Money raised by the Lions Club is donated to help people with sight and hearing disabilities. Race is open to all ages.
