Aug. 23       Dundee Township Lions Club’s Annual Charity Bean Bag Tournament at Diamond Jim’s, 325 Meier Street, East Dundee IL. Registration is at 12 PM with games beginning at 1 PM. Aug. 23-25  Festival of The Arts, hosted by the Glen Ellyn Lions Club. Enjoy a two-day fine arts festival showcasing the work of numerous fine artists offering their art in various mediums. Open air music, too. The annual art festival will feature watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings, photography, jewelry, pottery metal, wood and much more. There will also be children's activities, food vendors as well as open air musical performances including: Jazzy Steel Drums, Barbershop Quartet, Mariachi, Afro Cuban Jazz, Big Band, Bagpiper, Traditional Bluegrass and more.

Aug. 27       SOUTHEAST REGION MEETING at Lions Park in Westmont (south side Naperville Road / west side—Willmette Street), hosted by the Westmont Lions Club. Sep. 07       3rd Annual Burlington Lioness Club Pie Contest at Burlington Fall fest. Held at Burlington Park. Make a pie and have it judged. (No refrigerated ones, please.) Pies will be available for viewing after the parade. Come for the fun, beer tent, crafts, and other activities. You just might be selected to be a “pie judge!”

Nov. 27       Naperville Noon Lions Club is hosting its 17th Annual 5K Turkey Trot Race on Thanksgiving morning. The race starts at 8 AM from Naperville Central High School Field House, 440 Aurora Avenue, Naperville. Adult registration is $35 until October 31 and $40 thereafter, Children ages 10-14 and children 9 & under are $25. On-line registration ONLY at www.napervilleturkeytrot.com.
