Jun. 14               South Elgin Leo Club is hosting an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast at the Lions Clubhouse to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. Serving from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. $7 for Adults / $5 for Seniors over 60 / $3 for Children 6-11 and free for Children 5 & under. Jun. 19               1st Lions of Algonquin Golf Outing at Golf Club of Illinois, 1575 Edgewood Dr., Algonquin.  $125 will buy 18 holes of golf (format scramble), golf cart and range, plus dinner and prizes. Registration form on club website:  www.lionsclubofalgonquin.org  Registrations were due by June 12, 2009.

Jun. 19               Hampshire Lions Club Golf Outing -- check with a Hampshire Lion for details.

Jun. 19-20         Ice Cream Sales by the Aurora Noon Lions Club. Fri. night is Downtown Alive! And Sat. is Blues on the Fox.

Jun. 26               Cookin’ on the Grill Meat Spin -- hosted by the South Elgin Lions Club.

Jul. 2                  Freedom Days Health Fair at Valley West Community Hospital. Look for Sandwich Lions there in the afternoon.

Jul. 4                  Pork Chop BBQ Supper, hosted by the Shabbona Lions Club, and served at 4:30 PM at the Depot. The Lions will have a booth at Purdy Park selling Spin Art. There’ll be fireworks later in the evening.

Jul. 5                  The Crystal Lake Lions Club will be parading its BIG flag down Dole Avenue in Crystal Lake -- check with a CL Lion for the time.

Jul. 5                  The Lions’ Independence Day Parade in Bartlett will be supervised today by the Bartlett Lions Club.

Jul. 6 - 10          LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION in Minneapolis MN -- last Midwest Convention for a while!

Jul. 9-12            “Itasca-Fest,” hosted by the Itasca Lions Club. 

Jul. 9-12            West Chicago Rail Road Days at Reed Keppler Park. Stop at the West Chicago Lions’ Beer Tent. The Parade’s scheduled to take place on the 12th.

Jul. 10                CAMP LIONS OPEN HOUSE at Dubois Camp, 2651 Quarry Rd., DuBois, IL  (Note revised date.)

Jul. 16                Lions Fishing Derby – Shabbona State Park.  Starts at 9 a.m.

Jul. 18                Waterman Lions 9th Annual Tractor Show / Summer Fest at the Waterman Lions Park.

Jul. 23                LIONS DISTRICT 1-J ANNUAL GOLF OUTING at Hughes Creek, 1749 Spring Valley Drive, Elburn. Shotgun Start at 10 AM with a Scramble Format. Fee of $75 includes cart,  golf, lunch, prizes and a steak dinner. Reservations are required. Call Lion Bob Fowler at 847-370-1621 and leave a message.

Jul. 24                CAMP LIONS OPEN HOUSE at East Bay Camp, 24248 Ron Smith Memorial Hwy., Hudson IL (NE of Bloomington IL)  (Note revised date.)

Jul. 28                Hebron Lions Club Golf Outing fundraiser at Oak Grove Golf Course, Harvard IL. $80 for sandwich buffet lunch, cart, & 18 holes of golf. Hole sponsorship -- $50.  Contact Lion Chris Olson at 815-378-2914 for more information.

Jul. 31                CAMP LIONS OPEN HOUSE at Camp Reynoldswood, 621 Reynoldswood Rd., Dixon IL

Aug. 1               Shotgun Start at 12 Noon -- Lions of IL Foundation 16th Annual Golf Outing at Railside Golf Course, 120 W. 19th St. Gibson City IL. $75.00 Entry Fee includes Buffet Lunch at 11 AM, 18 holes of golf, cart, evening banquet, free beverage on the course and prizes for everyone. All proceeds will support the LIF Low Vision Program.

Aug. 5               Huntley Lions Club Golf Outing -- $75 includes golf and a steak dinner at Pinecrest. Contact Lion Norm Brettschneider for particulars & tickets.

Aug. 8               Hybrid Car Show, hosted by the Bloomingdale Lions Club, at DuJardin School from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Aug. 16             Please note date change if previously recorded -- Cortland Lions Club Family Picnic at Cortland Community Park from 1-5 PM (food served between 1 PM and 3 PM).  $10 per person with children 12 & under FREE for food, drinks & entertainment for adults & children alike. Tickets available through Cortland Lions Club at 815-909-0218 or lionjohncortland@verizon.net.

Aug. 16             Cornfest hosted by Island Lake Lions Club today.  LIF Hearing Bus will be there!

Aug. 17             LIF Candy Day Jamboree at Roselle American Legion Hall. Candy will be available for pickup. Club Presidents will receive detailed information and order sheets before long.

Aug. 21-23        Elburn Days -- hosted by the Elburn Lions Club.  Mark your calendar now! It’s a fun time!

Aug. 22-23        Glen Ellyn Festival of the Arts at Lake Ellyn Park. This year marks the 40th year of the Fest!  Glen Ellyn Lions will be looking for you!

Sep. 11              Elgin Lions Club Golf Outing at Hughes Creek G.C. Fee is only $80 per golfer this year!

Sep. 03              Itasca Lions Club Golf Outing at Eaglewood Resort & Spa, 1401 Nordic Road, Itasca IL. -- 1:30 PM Shotgun Start -$55 per player includes golf, cart, gifts and awards dinner at Truffles Grove Restaurant, 360 N. Rt. 53, Itasca. Entry deadline is Aug. 17th. For more information call Lion Mike Latoria at 630-207-9800.

Sep. 12              “Banjo Beer” is being hosted by the Johnsburg Lions Club from 5 PM to closing. A Banjo Band will start the festivities and then a band will play pop songs. Food & drinks will be served.

Sep. 20              Please note there is a change of date if you have already recorded one! Dundee Township Lions Club’s Community Pancake Breakfast from 8 AM to Noon. It’s part of the annual Dundee Heritage Fest. Lots going on throughout the day!

Sep. 22              Annual Antique Auto Show with Fay’s BBQ Chicken & Pork Chop Dinner, including all of the corn you can eat -- hosted by Dundee Township Lions Club.

Sep. 24-26        33rd USA/CANADA LIONS LEADERSHIP FORUM will be held in Memphis TN this fall. “Move to Grow -- Lions Leading Through Service” theme. On Fri. night there will be “Walkin’ to Memphis” music. Check out the Forum schedule on http://usacanadalionsforum.org.

Sep. 26              Sun City-Huntley Lions Club is hosting a Pancake Breakfast from 7 - 11 AM today.
