October 14, 2008 - I brought Darlene home Monday evening at 10:30 P.M.
She is doing very well but has to go back for some more evaluations on
October 27th and October 29th to see how her aneurysms are doing. They
will decide then what the next move is for her recovery. She still has
a balance problem and her walking is doing very well but needs some
improving and I will be going out for little walks with her while she
is home.
I wish that I could have made my meetings with the all of you and
hope to be at our Region Meeting on the 29th.We have the meeting in
Chicago around 2:00 P.M. and hope to be back by then. Keep her in your
prayers and thank you again for all of her cards and e-mails. God
bless you all.

October 10, 2008 - I got a call from Darlene at 8:00 A.M. this morning
and she told me that the MRI showed that all was doing well and they
are going to remove the tube from her head and will be moved from
intensive care. She still will be on the same floor but in a different
ward. I am very pleased in her progress and hope that she will be OK
with her aneurysms and that they will resolve the way to take care of
them. Keep her in your prayers and I will let you know more when I
find out. Again thank you all for being great Lions.

October 9, 2008 - I just got back from Chicago and wanted to let you
all know that Darlene is doing very well. Tomorrow she has a cat-scan
and will tell if the tube can be removed from her head. She has to
stay there to see how she will react. As of this time I do not know
what they plan to do about her two aneurysms that they have found and
how bad they are. They wanted to control the stroke first, of which
they are very pleased with how she has overcome it thus far. We thank
you all for your support, cards, friendship, and prayers. God bless
you all and I will keep you all informed when I get any results.
I will be returning to Chicago on Saturday and will not be able to
attend the Cabinet Meeting.

October 7, 2007 - Lion Leo Snyder just called me and said he got home about 4 pm on Monday. Had 5 units of blood put in and fought through pneumonia as well. He is to resume his normal activity to keep his heart rate working to help build back his blood count. We might see him on Sunday if he is up to it.
October 5, 2008 - Just wanted to let you all know that Lion Darlene is
doing very well for what she has been through. She's a tough gal. She
had a test done on her heart and all seems to be alright. I will be
staying in Chicago starting on Sunday the 5th of October to Thursday the
9th. I have a few matters to take care of Friday and will be going back
to Chicago on Saturday and hope to get back sometime the week after.
Will tell Darlene of all of your cards and prayers that you have sent to
her and I believe that it helps her in her recovery. Thank You All.

October 2, 2008 - Lion Darlene is at UIC Medical Center in Chicago and
has gone under several tests. She has had brain scans, a tube inserted
to drain fluid from her brain and has two aneurysms. They have put
stenches in them allowing the blood to flow threw her veins. As for now
she does not need surgery and is doing very well. The doctors are in
belief for how well she is doing and are very optimistic for a full
recovery. We both thank all of you for your prayers and concerns in this
matter and it shows that it truly is great to be a lion.

September 29, 2008 - I’ve been asked by Lion Bob Jackson, ZC in the Fox River Region , to let you all know that his wife, Darlene, was taken to the hospital Saturday evening. Darlene had been passing out and was extremely nauseous. She is in Woodstock Memorial Hospital and will remain there for the next “day or two” while tests are taken. As of Sunday night there was no definitive diagnosis. Lion Bob’s phone and email are out; he hopes to have that service restored shortly (his entire residential complex is out).
Cards, if you wish, should be sent to the Jackson home.
