McHenry Lions Club

Lion Bob is a member of the McHenry Lions Club since 1980

Lion Bob has faithfully served the McHenry Lions Club in many leadership positions, including Director, Lion Tamer, Tail Twister, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President, Past President, and Leo Advisor ( some offices multiple times) and has chaired all committees and activities of the club.

Lion Bob has  been a member of the 1J Cabinet since 2000, holding the offices of CSFII Leader, Guiding Lion, Pin Chairperson, Zone Chairperson and last year as Senior Zone Chairperson of the district.  He has also served as Schooling Chairperson, Hospitality Room Chairperson ( District and State), Silent Auction Chairperson, Theme Basket Chairperson, and on the Constitution and By Laws Committee.

Lion Bob has attended all District Conventions since 1980, more that (13) State Conventions and (6) International Conventions.

Lion Bob has received many awards and medals for his dedicated service in Lionism including (2) International President Certificates, International President Leadership Award Medal, International President Award Medal, Lions Club Extension Medal, CSFII Certificate, Leo Extension Award, Leo Advisor Service, several District Governor awards, Jim and Joyce Davis Lifetime Service Award, Candy Day 32% increase award, Melvin Jones Fellow (1996), Foundation Fellow (2003), Lion of the Year (2000), 100% President and Secretary awards ( multiple times) and First Place Club Pin Design in 2001.

Lion Bob was the key person in the organization and chartering of the Hebron Lions Club and McHenry Leo Club.

Lion Bob has also served his community as a member of the First Baptist Church serving as youth leader, helped start AWANA youth club, driver for Faith in Action and served as precinct committee person.

Lion Bob and his wife Lion Darlene have been married since 1975 and have five (5) children - Cathy, Richard, Robert Jr., Megan, and Angela ( deceased ),and seven (7) grandchildren.

Lion Bob loves his country and takes a lot of pride in being a Lion and helping others in our communities.
