Oct. 12 Wheaton Lions Club will host a Wine Fest at Arrowhead Golf Club on Butterfield Road from 6—9 PM. Guests and their spouses will be free. Lion members and their spouses will have a cost of $35 each. There will be food, plenty of wine and an entertaining video. Please invite people you think would enjoy becoming Lions.
Oct. 14 Elburn Lions Club’s German Dinner at Lions Park in Elburn — serving pork loin, bratwurst, spätzle, German potato salad, sauerkraut, rolls & dessert buffet-style from 3—7 PM. Cash bar available. Adults—$14.00/Senior 60+ – $13/Children 4-11—$9.00/Children 3 & under—free.
Oct. 20 Burr Ridge-Hinsdale-Oak Brook Lions Club’s Annual Wine Tasting from 5:30 to 8 PM at The Community House, 415 West Eighth Street, Hinsdale.
Oct. 20 Bloomingdale Lions will be participating with the Cub Scout Pack the club sponsors at a Trunk-or-Treat at 7 PM at Erickson School. Make your car trunk as elaborate or as plain as you want. Dress up to complement your car theme, as well. It’s a safer form of trick or treating.
Oct. 21 Fox River Grove Lions Club’s $100 Raffle at Turner Camp Rathskeller, Algonquin-River Rd., Algonquin. 120 Ticket Draw Down with Ticket Cost of $100 each. $5,000 Grand Prize, $250 First Ticket drawn; 11 $100 Draws, and $500 for final ticket drawn. Oct. 30 Batavia Lions Club Trunk or Treat with Batavia Apartments. Lions will work with the apartments to provide a safe trick or treating environment for residents from 4—5 PM.

Nov. 04 Glendale Heights Barangay Lions Club’s 16th Annual Peace Poster Contest will be held at Marquardt School Administration Center in Glen Ellyn. Students from Glenside, St. Matthew, Marquardt Middle School will be submitting Peace Posters. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st Prize Winner from each school.

Nov. 17 Crystal Lake Lions Club’s Fall Raffle at Crystal Lake Park District’s Park Place at the corner of Woodstock & Oak Streets. Festivities will begin at 6 PM with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Ninety-nine $100 tickets will be sold in advance and they will go quickly. Lions Randy Funk and Larry Jensen have tickets available in October. The last ticket will be auctioned off during the raffle for a prize of $4,000. Smaller prizes are awarded for the first, twenty-fifth, fiftieth and seventy-fifth numbers pulled.

Nov. 23 20th Annual 5K Turkey Trot, hosted by the Naperville Noon Lions Club, starts at 8 AM. Register only online. Runners, walkers, running strollers, and special needs runners/walkers are welcome. No dogs or other animals, please. The race is limited to 7,800 registrants and has sold out in previous years. Go to https://www.napervilleturkeytrot.com to register. Only on-line registration is accepted and race day registrations will NOT be accepted.
Dec. 02 Wheaton Lions Club’s & Wheaton Park District’s Reindeer Run starts at 8:30 AM at the DuPage History Museum, 102 E. Wesley St., Wheaton. The race is open for all ages. Fees before 11/02 /2017 are $30 for individuals and $25 for a team of four. Between 11/3 and 11/28, $35 for individuals and $30 for a team of four. Registration is available during packet pick-up and Race Day for $40.
